Lila Thomas

Lila Thomas is Chegg’s Director of Social Impact and Head of Chegg.org, the not-for-profit impact, advocacy and research arm of Chegg addressing the issues facing the modern student. She created and launched Chegg.org in 2019 as an evolution of the Chegg Foundation, to build a new platform which further elevates the student voice and celebrates their great accomplishments. She has been at Chegg since 2014, where she has worked on and lead Chegg’s most visible campaigns, including Chegg Music 101 with Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Steve Aoki, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, as well as Chegg Master Sessions, the celebrity tutor campaign featuring one-on-one lessons with celebrities, athletes, politicians, business and non-profit leaders. In January 2020, she established a new partnership with the Varkey Foundation to launch the inaugural Chegg.org Global Student Prize. This sister prize to the Global Teacher Prize was set up to highlight the efforts of students throughout the world that are making a real impact on learning, the lives of their peers and on society beyond.

Lila graduated from Stanford University, where she studied International Relations under Dr. Condoleezza Rice. She also played on the Stanford Women’s Golf Team, and still competes in the top amateur championships in the United States. Lila resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband, rescue pup, and two wonderful little boys.
