Agustin studied philosophy at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) and holds a master's degree in public policy from the McCourt School at Georgetown University, where he has been selected member of the Alumni Board. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Politics, Government and Administration from the UCA.
Agustin has worked for several years at the public sector in Argentina, first as Coordinator of Institutional Relations at the Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires and later, as Chief of Staff at the Directorate of Centralized Benefits of the National Social Security Administration.
In the nonprofit world, he headed the Educational Policy area of Fundación Contemporánea; He was Executive Director of FormarHub, a non-profit organization that supports innovative approaches to education between Latin America and the United States bringing together a network of over 120 young leaders working with education from diverse sectors. Since 2016 he joined the Varkey Foundation where he consolidated a high performance team that delivers evidence based programmes in the region that have reached +15,000 teachers and school principals.
He is also a cofounder of the Latin American Coalition for Excellence in Teaching, a network of organizations and individuals that bring together educational experts from the region to design reforms to the teaching career with the overall goal of making the teaching profession more meritocratic, and better prepared and supported.
Agustin writes frequently for the main media in Argentina and Latin America. Annually, he is juror for organizations that work to recognize teachers in Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Ecuador, Chile and Colombia.
Currently, he is visiting professor at Universidad Austral and is a member of the alumni directory of McCourt School, Georgetown University.
